Short Synopsis: Our lead character starts his new job at a kindergarten for moeblobs.
First, let me say this: this show rocks for having absolutely no teenagers in them! It only focuses on young adults and 4-year-old kids, while teenagers only appear in a few flashbacks. Aside from that, it was a bit of a strange series; the best way to describe it would be a cross between Potemayo and Kodomo no Jikan. It has the moeblobs from Potemayo if they were to 3 years older, and it has a similar teacher to Kodomo no Jikan, even including a similar love-interest of his. The biggest problem with this sereis is obviously that most of the characters are too one-sided or stereotypical, but it does work. This episode was enjoyable slice of life. I especially enjoyed those small scenes after school. What this series needs to do is to somehow remain as light-hearted and enjoyable as it was here, not repeat itself too much, and flesh out the cast beyond the stereotypes that we’ve seen so far. If it’s going to focus on the romance, then I hope for something similar to Yume de Aetara (the OVA, not the TV-series. By GOD, not the TV-series).
ED: This is why voice actresses that pretend to be little kids should never sing.

Seikon no Qwaser
Short Synopsis: Our lead character wants to protect her seemingly retarded sister as much as possible.
Ugh… that sister. What a horrible voice actress she received. Just about everything about her is annoying. Apart from that, this episode was decent. There’s potential for a decent action-series, although the direction was flawed at times (one moment the camera pans across a classroom, and the next shot from out of nowhere a girl with a ridiculous pink hairstyle just appears). About half the cast is interesting, while the rest of the cast are just dull stereotypes with a one-sided personality. The lead character herself is decent, but has a nasty tendency to overact. For this series to work, it’s really going to have to put in effort to correctly pace its storyline, and not waste time on pointless beach, hot spring and pool episodes.

Kaito Reinya
Short Synopsis: Our lead character is a phantom thief in the city with the most incompetent police.
There’s an art to making a good comedy: actually making it FUNNY. That’s something that Kaito Reinya completely fails at. It’s full of corny and overused jokes, the slapstick with the mouse is so bad that it becomes horrible, and the constant references to phantom thieves are uninspired at best. I guess that this series’ selling poing is that it’s fully animated in flash, but even that looks lazy: Hanoka, which was produced three years earlier, looked much better than this uninspired… thing.

That blond kid looks exactly like Hakuba Saguru, a detective who chases a kaitou in Detective Conan. The fat guy beside him looks like Inspector Megure from the same series. Lol, ripoff much.

I just found out the lead character is based off/voiced by a girl from an idol group I listen to. That’s pretty much the only reason I’d check it out.
I figured the breast feeding would have put Seikon no Qwaser at an automatic 0%.
Looked up the VA you mentioned (Aki TOYOSAKI), I guess it’s normal you wouldn’t really like the person who was the lead character in k-on…
With Seikon no Qwaser… The uncensored version will be alot more clear, but oh well hahah.
And by the way if the anime even barely goes along with the manga, there wont be ANY stereo typical episodes. The manga didnt have time for filler chapters. π
The censored version is going to be very choppy though… since 70% of the plot includes boobs and… other things…

Yea ignore the spontaneous boobage, and it’s *quite* nice. I’m looking forward to THAT scene that made me ‘aww’. Now unless the anime screws it, then I’ll kick this show to the trash bin completely. Also, fangirl spot for the male lead.

Agreed on the SnQ ED visuals. I would suspect that whoever was in charge of it was itching to exercise their middle finger in a creative way.
The Kaito thing looks remarkably similar to Kaito Saint Tail, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they are trying to parody that series. I guess I’ll have to go watch it to figure it out for sure. Moeblobs!!! :3

Wow breast milk. This gotta be the worse sounding premise I heard of.
Yeah sorry but breast milk is a huge turn off. And it sucks to hear Haramaru Yochien has a kodomo like romance, it’s unnecessary in a show like this, it still looks to be very cute though.
like I wrote somewhere else the other day, the use of breastmilk in alchemy and magical/pagan sex rites has a long history, and there were traditions of heretical christians who believed christ got his divine powers through his mother’s breastmilk. That’s where this show is getting all this from, it isn’t just to be controversial or tittilating. Even if it is pretty weird, there is a historical basis for including it in the story, and all the stuff tying it to Mary, etc. Like I said somewhere else, this is another one of those ancient beliefs kind of like the whole “da vinci code” thing, except this time its magical powers from breastmilk instead of jesus being into orgy’s and goddess worship and the holy grail being a code word for vagina.
That being said, I’m not trying to defend the show or convince anyone to watch it. I find it strange and a little off-putting too, and the story is going to have to step it up a bit in a couple of episodes in order for me to overlook it and keep watching. I just want people to realize they didn’t just pull this out of their ass to make another soft-core porn, and it isn’t really quite the same as the tentical rape stuff. Now, they very well may turn it into porn, and that is kind of how it looks from the first ep, but it doesnt have to be. Despite its controversy, The Da Vinci Code was an extremely successful book and film, and while I wouldn’t call it deep or anything, it was pretty good entertainment, despite being based on a similarly weird and fetishistic premise. And Japanese audiences seem to dig these exotic and esoteric aspects of Christian History, ie. Le Chevalier De Eon, etc. So, I don’t really have a point except that we shouldn’t automatically lump this into the same category as the anime for “nerds whacking off to cartoon tentacle sex”, even if that is where the creators ultimately take this. So, don’t watch it if it grosses you out, and personally, if it doesn’t get better I’ll probably just go watch some good old porn myself, heh.

‘Seikon no Qwaser’ is one of the worst series of the last season. Leaving aside the euphemisms thumbed (fanservice, ecchi, etc), this series can only be described as pornographic. That is the kinda crap that makes me ashamed to like Anime.
