MHA Season 4 Review – 80/100

My Hero Academia is the forerunner of modern shounen – the descendant, if you will, of Bleach, HxH, One Piece, and Fairy Tale.  With 2 movies, 4 seasons, infinite merch and cosplay, MHA is a force to be reckoned with. With that in mind, Season 4 proved to be a transitional season, with our lead Midoriya moving forward in the world of heroes and All-Might fading, set against a backdrop of a world trying to cope.

(I’m also part of the movement to make 50 the new average score, not 70.)

MHA – 86-88 [School Festival, Hero Billboard Chart, and HIS START]

MHA flexed hard with this finale.  Most other shows bring out some fanservice or flashy action – no, MHA made a legitimate MINIATURE MOVIE as their finale (why it gets all caps in the title). My Hero Academia – 70/71 [ GO!!/Suneater ]

MHA is one of my favorite shows.  But I have to admit that the pacing this season has felt odd.  I think what’s disconcerting is Season Four feels like an introductory season…despite having 3 prior (and a movie).  We have had several backstory episodes and a couple first day of work/setting introductions – not normal fare four seasons in.  Someone could start watching from Season 4 and feel like the story is just starting off – granted, they would be incorrect, but that’s the impression I’ve had so far.

My Hero Academia – 69 [An Unpleasant Talk]

My first post on the new, shiny site!  Big shout outs to everyone who worked to get it up and going – Lenlo especially for shouldering the brunt of the technical issues and migration.  Everyone pitched in though, and it was a great feeling seeing everything come together!  Now we can stop playing with WordPress and get back to watching great anime!  Like MHA!
