And the Winter-Season has started! I’m already looking forward to it with such a great start. It finally reminded me why I came to like the original series:
– Likable characters, who are well-developed.
– The drama works.
– And yet it doesn’t take itself seriously all the time.
This episode formed a great introduction to the second season, and it’s promising to become quite interesting. Tina has already gotten one major lead about the guy who killed her parents when she meets the guy who gave him the tattoo. It seems that there are three guys who went on a rampage ten years ago, killing all sorts of foreigners (is it me, or does Rita’s brother look suspiciously much like one of them?).
Rita meets the king of Greedam in the meantime, and you can see why his country is known as a peace-loving one. I’m not too sure about the guy’s son, though. ^^; In any case, now that the political scene has calmed down a bit with the death of Guernia, Rita decides to help Tina with finding the one who killed her parents. Basically, that’s the only part of the episode that felt a bit iffy for me. Still, it was fun to watch and I can imagine how Rita wants to pay Tina back. Apparently, her original plan was to go along with the king of Greedam to propose a cease-fire for Sangatras, but I guess I can imagine how Greedam’s king can handle that just fine. That’s basically the only downfall of this series for me: some of the twists aren’t well thought-out, unlike the characters.
Glad you’re still blogging this!
It’s crazy that a good show like Sisters of Welber is getting pretty much zero support anywhere else. Some bad word of mouth or the talking tank seemed to have turned everyone off. Yet it has good drama, character development, action…
But as far as i know, no one is even planning on fan subbing the new season (or finishing the last one). Hope someone at least licenses it!
Maybe it will be licensed –
Nice to hear that a new season is starting, while i’m still waiting for the sub of the last episodes of the former season :/
(this applies to saiunkoku monogatari and to countless other anime as well)
PS: nice to see that Emily and Cosette are finished. I should have 10 eps from both series if i’m lucky >.>
But on the other hand i’ve plenty of choses for Zero no Tsukaima II end Higurashi 2. I finished those 2 series multiple times. Now i only have to pick up the nicest translation >.>
So this means there is a second season to Sisters of Welber ? that’s great in that case. I really like the plot. Here in Sweden it’s not easy to get any updates regarding different shows so i’m glad your blogging this. You have a good site.
Thanks, and yup, there is a second season. Again with 13 episodes, if I’m not mistaken.
Season one was awesome. It showed that Production IG must be some sort of god, almost every film they’ve produced since the company’s formation is damn fine. So, it pains me that nothing they did in 2007 has garnered much attention. Fortunately, Ghost Hound is – slowly – gaining popularity, so it might spur people to check out other ProIG works such as Wellber.
So, since there’s near nothing out there about Wellber Zwei yet… I look forward to you blogging this… It will leave me fulfilled…
I BEG OF YOU >
