Hetalia World Series
Short Synopsis: Our lead character is the personification of a certain mediterranean country.
Healia, please. Start putting labels on your characters. This episode introduced a bunch of new characters of which I had no idea who they were. It’s of course nice to see more characters like these, but it’s a bit pointless if you don’t know what coumtry they represent. It’s not good to assume that everyone read the manga, studio Deen. As for this episode, it was funny as usual. I do hope that the episodes will get released a bit faster now. This isn’t really like a series as Marie & Gali, in which I’m really willing to wait multiple weeks for the next episode.

Senkou no Night Raid
Short Synopsis: Our lead character is an international spy.
Well, there you have it, A-1 surely is on fire this season. This episode was really well made: it had a lot of spy action, but it cleverly kept everything from going over the top, and instead kept everything down and true to the abilities of the characters involved. The dialogue itself was also excellent: well written and it actually kept the language barrier: the Chinese people speak Chinese here. That was also a bit annoying though, because I had no idea what they were saying. But still, when you compare this to Canaan it looks very promising. The characters have a few quirks and traits, but despite that they don’t feel out of place. This should prove to be a pretty nice spy thriller during the upcoming season.
ED: Interesting visuals, but a dull ballad.

Metal Fight Beyblade – Explosion
Short Synopsis: Our lead character wants to have the legendary spinning top of the galaxy unicorn.
It’s hilarious how poorly produced this series actually is. Cutting corners is of course one thing, but this episode was just so ridiculously cheap. Take the first half for example: it shows an arena full of fans as they watch a bunch of people battle with their spinning tops (yeah…). At one point, the creators simply forget that there’s supposed to be an audience and instead turn the entire audience in some sort of fancy wallpaper as the matches stop and the characters start rambling on about some kind of kid who disturbed their match from out of nowhere. The second half has the lead character of this series search for some sort of legendary beyblade. When he finds it (yeah, this all happens in the span of one episode; no build-up whatsoever) it’s followed by a huge amount of cheap-ass tricks to try and make the moment of a boy grabbing a spinning top from a wall look as epic as possible. I got a good laugh out of it, that’s for sure. But the thing that I’ve been wondering about these kids’ shows is the following: if they’re going to be cheap, why don’t they just recap some sort of kids’ show from the nineties? That’s going to be even cheaper, and it’s not like these kids are gonna notice.

Nah, recaping a kids’ show from the nineties would not sell the beyblade products.
Senkô no Nightraid pleasently surprised me, but I’m still not sure what exactly to expect.
Considering that it seems to be going 13 episodes, there’s just so much they can do, so I hope they don’t throw in many more characters.
The abilities they had were interesting, but I hope they come with some sort of price to pay. If not they would be a bit too much…especially in a setting like this.
Here’s to hope that they manage to develop those characters and give us a nice conflict…maybe something similar to what Noir did.
I’m still afraid that China won’t like this series at all, considering how some countries reacted to Hetalia…

Add Senkou no Night Raid to the anime I’m hoping to start this season. Hopefully the ending is better than Sora no Woto’s.

@johnson, I was wondering if that chinese was as bad as the usual engrish is. thanks for the confirmation. Still, I’m impressed they actually put it in, instead of just having all asians speak japanese like usual.
All in all, I was greatly impressed. So far, this is my favorite first episode.
The first episode of Senkou no Night Raid felt like it was made from all of the exciting parts of an action movie, only with better writing. I cannot vouch for the Chinese, but at least the dialogue was subtitled and I like that they put the effort in. It will be interesting to see how the pace of the show keeps up as it progresses.
I don’t think there are any new characters in World Series that haven’t been introduced before. :/

Haha+ I agree with it and I swear too that I laugh a lot when see your comment and watch that ED at the same time.
But I want to confess.. when I’m around 10 years old. I love Beyblade. love to playing it and watch it every time when it on air. more than that I’m very pissed when I’m busy and can’t watch it!! Aww..at my kids time.
But OK…I ever watched it when this new season started on air at the same time last year. But why it can’t sold me anymore. I don’t know…

Sapphire, Kiseki: ah, so that’s why. Still, I still felt a bit confused not knowing who these characters were, but I guess I can only blame my memory for that.
Well, actually the Chinese people in Senkou no Night Raid spoke pretty good chinese. I have to give A-1 credit for hiring real chinese speaking seiyu for them. However, the main character’s Chinese language were all horrible since their seiyu are Japanese.
I liked the idea in Night Raid that the Chinese people spoke Chinese “normally” while the Japanese spies spoke it like an American speaking Japanese. I got a kick out of that idea, but I have no way of confirming whether I’m right – it just sounded like that to me despite not really knowing any Chinese.
That Chinese was BAD. Bad bad bad. I doubt real Japanese spies could’ve spoken like that – they’d be spotted by Chinese officials right away. The series itself looks pretty promising though.
You’ll notice that they’re not there to talk with the Chinese, though. They’re not undercover political spies, but mercenaries of some sort, hired because they’re X-Men.
For instance, the bad violinist’s bad Chinese makes sense because he wasn’t there to talk with the Chinese, but to drive motorcycles into rivers and play the violin badly. I found it humorous.
Now, if the Chinese people were speaking poor Chinese, that’s another matter 🙂
that was some horrendous Chinese. even a 5 year old kid can speak better chinese. how does he expect to be a spy if his chinese is piss poor?
I loled at the thick and bad accent Aoi pulled off but whatever. I still find it enjoyable. The random laughs he pulls off with that man with the glasses are weird. I loved Aoi’s terrible musician skills.
But anyway… I haven’t looked up my sources yet but are the voice actors the same ones from Blood+? =D
haha i laughed at the chinese. you chould tell that specific characters were actualy chinese speakers(this one soldier) but the rest were horrible accents. I couldn’t even understand half of it and i’m full chinese.

The first one to show up was prussia (in his diaries he was the teutonic knights) the “boy” playing with him was hungary. the people in his thought bubbles: Austria and Hungary. After the Title popped up, Germany, South Italy and North Italy. Next Segment America, Canada and Canada’s Icebear Kuma-… something. After the ending the preview to the movie in may or june and then the advertisement to china’s character CD.
