Les Miserables – Shoujo Cosette – 50

Oh my gawd! Thenardiére lost weight in prison! That was quite a shock to see how much she had changed. ^^;

And yeah, I totally forgot about the wedding, which took place in this episode. It was really cute, especially seeing some old faces back again (Cosette’s friends from the monastery return! Yay!) and of course the two children who entertained the guests at the dinner-party by singing random songs. ^^; Thenardier also returns for a bit, and he’ll probably get his big moment in the next episode.

You also have to love Marius’s uncle, who keeps begging him and Cosette to come and live with him. But no, instead the two of them will move into small house and take care of themselves. Also, Jean has finally decided to speak about his past. In the next episode, Marius will probably hear all about the things he did when he was younger.

  1. I know, Mme. Thenardier’s weight loss thing really shocked me, too. I was also majorly disappointed that we saw Javert for, like, five seconds. But *SPOILER* he’s in the next one, which I’m looking forward to.

    In random news: I finally learned the word for convict in Japanese, even though I don’t know how to spell it. ^^, I can’t believe this series is almost over!

  2. Psgels says that Gillenormand has been referred to as “uncle” in this series. He’s supposed to be Marius’ grandfather, so I don’t know if this is a matter of mistranslation or a simple alteration on the part of Nippon. This is no critique against you, psgels.

  3. Well, this is just my mistake. I originally thought that Gillenormand was Marius’s uncle because the words for uncle and grandfather are so incredibly similar (oji-san and ojii-san respectively). I’ve made the same mistake many times before, sorry about that.

  4. That’s okay, it happens in a lot of languages that either the same title is used for different types of relations, or the names are very similar. The woman is Marius’ aunt, though (I think), she’s just a spinster who lives with her pop. That can be REALLY confusing.
