Gundam 00 – 15

Well, Deus ex Machina aside, I really liked this episode. Of course, the worst thing that the creators can now do is carry this Deus ex Machina even further by making all of the Gundams escape without a scratch. That would really ruin everything this episode built up for. But for now, I’m content with Setsuna being the only one who escaped the fruitless battle of this episode.

I’m surprised that Veda didn’t do anything to stop them, though. He too must have seen that a battle of 4 versus 1000 was fruitless to begin with, and his whole plans seem ruined now, with three of the four Gundams being captured. I’m worried about that big black Gundam, though. I have the feeling that it will either make, or break this series.

One thing that I really liked about this episode was how long the fight took. Not in terms of airtime, but the actual duration of the battle (over fifteen hours). All that time, the pilots were waiting for the inevitable, or a chance to escape. The other Celestial Beings meanwhile had now way to communicate with the Gundams due to their particles, so they had no idea what was going on, for fifteen whole hours.

  1. From Sumeragi’s comment in the middle of the show (something like “If that doesn’t work, they’ll come”) that refers to the 3 Throne Gundams (or whatever you call them), it seems that there is a hierarchy among the CBs.

That means Sumeragi knew in advanced and it was already set up that there was intervention from the 3 Throne Gundams if the situation got that bad.

It’s still unclear, even with the ending and preview if all of them get rescued though. I was thinking the earth factions would HAVE to capture the Gundams in order to produce their own to even out the power balance in the show.

The fact that the Meisters followed through with such a dangerous plan that leads to their inevitable capture would appear more Deus Ex (forced) to me than the fact of actually having another backup of more Gundams to pull the frontliners out of a pinch.

I guess we’ll understand more in the next couple of episodes… hopefully. @_@

  2. I think the 3 thrones is correct. I’ve seen it called that in other locations.. I think bringing the thrones in actually is going to make this a bit interesting.

  3. i think the captured Gundams are going to join mankind in fighting against the trinity. I think we might see allusions to Christianity and rebelling against an instituted order a la Golden Compass. but that’s just me.

  4. i am not even going to try and speculate what is going on here… 🙂 ….i will wait to be surprised….like the direction so far..and thoroughly enjoyed the ep…..all apart of the plan man…all apart of the plan (whatever that may be) 😉

  5. Just woundering Nena Trinity is 17 and Setsuna is 16 are you thinking what am thinking.

If the law on sex doesn’t change in 200 years in the further, what could happen.
