Saiunkoku Monogatari – 65

I’m still surprised at how short the different arcs have become now. There are only three or four episodes for each one. Ah well, not that I’m complaining. It’s refreshing when compared to the thickly atmosphered first half of the second season, where the pacing was really slow. This episode marks the end of what I’d call the Seiga-arc, because it indeed turns out that he was using Shuurei all along. The episode was as good as usual, and I really enjoyed it, but it also was one of these episodes with a lot of complicated talking, which led to me, not understanding 50% of it. If only the subs for this series weren’t coming out so slow… Anyway, from what I understood, Tantan went to his mother, and Shuurei now has a job with Ki Kouki, and most of the other low-ranked officials that were with her found a position with Reishin, it seems. Kouki was quite a bastard, by the way. He called Shuurei all kinds of nasty stuff before offering her a job. The other things that went on at Tantan’s mother’s home were beyond me, though. I’m still not sure what Seiga was after, and what Tantan’s role was in it. The end of the episode also shows some very interesting developments with Ryuuki, as small Riou appears right in front of him in the throne room. We also learn the identity of the guy who was behind the counterfeiting and the salt: it’s the noble we saw a number of episodes back, and complained about how the nobles are getting more and more insignificant.]]>

  1. this is episode 26 right? that’s odd, i can’t find the torrent on Tokyo Toshokan nor S^M yet. where did you get it??

  2. oh just to add something… “I don’t like you Seiga.” (he’s gonna do evil plots over our main dudes, including someone else we’ve met. EVIL! >M

  3. I got my releases from the program called Share, not Tokyo Toshokan.
And regarding Seiga, it’s indeed expected that he’s going to do horrible things. This isn’t the first time in this series where we see a bad guy who gets introduced while pretending to be a good guy.

  4. i know, and to explain something more detail, i mean there’s “another” person [whom we already met] who’s gonna team up with Seiga to plot evil over a few (say one or two) of our main characters. evil! (actually most of the new characters are against our main streamers just because they are =v=|||)

  5. veoh has the raws as well.
at least, in this episode, shuurei accepted the fact that she is naive and idealistic.
she has grown up a little bit.
i am more interested in the 13th princess, mind you… and riou jr, too.
i wonder when reishin would start revealing himself as shuurei’s uncle.

  6. muha, that REISHIN!? apparently not yet ( not even revealed in the novel as of vol 12, so yeah he’s got a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo-[infinite] way to go =v=; )
i got mine at S^M already, apparently they’re a day late then wherever you guys downloaded yours, so yeah thanks for the other websites (i wonder where “Share” was though. is it even a site!?)
and now back to the story: *GASP!* oh no, Shuei got the letter about Jusanhime coming into the palace *THUNDER BOLTS-DUN, DUN, DUN!!* (very BAD sign for Shuei-sama~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ *cries!!* Q0Q )

  7. Indeed, Share isn’t a site, it’s a Peer-to-Peer sharing program. It’s one of the main sources that the Japanese use to distribute their video-files, hence the speed.
Also, thanks for alerting me what the letter that Shuei was reading about. It definitely sounds promising. 🙂
