This show. Talk about a mindscrew. This episode once again was just brilliant. There was so little action in this episode: it was just people talking, trying to convince each other and trying out various kinds of diabolical schemes. This episode just kept pushing things further, and added things like defying logic and fate to the mix.
I can’t believe how well the build-up of the previous episodes got used. This episode finally revealed how people are able to talk through each other, and immediately this show uses that theory to make a plausible explanation for Hakaze to return. And as if that wasn’t already a twist enough, it turns out that one of the biggest reasons for the plot to actually start was wrong: nobody from the clan killed Aika.
There were two things that I realized here that got left unmentioned, but need to be answered. First of all, how does suicide work? Could it be that Aika wasn’t murdered, but instead orchestrated her death herself. In any case it is very heavily being hinted that Aika was the priestess of the tree of Exodus. Second of all… are they going to remember to remove those strings on Hakaze’s skeleton. I mean, I shiver at the thought that they’ll remain stuck out of her body if this goes on!
Rating: 6/8 (Awesome)
I’ll never understand how you could find the twists in this show remotely intelligent or surprising.
I love Mari Okada, but after this and the first few episodes of Gosick I’ve realised one thing: she can’t write intelligent characters. Her strength lies in how she writes emotions, and that sort of thing just isn’t as significant here.
Why are even watching the show then !!?
Good thing she’s not the author, then, right?
It’s pretty amazing that this exact scene has been ongoing for more than 3 episodes and yet it still manages to be suspenseful and fun to watch .. it works kinda like a theater play where two or three actors could stand in the same location for an entire act of the play exchanging dialog and still manage to entertain the audience (considering the show is already referencing many Shakespeare plays in its dialog and plot-twists it’s kinda ironic)
It’s indeed possible that Aika is the witch of Exodus as we really know nothing about her past before she met Mahiro (or even how she ended up meeting him in the first place) …. but even if she is the witch of Exodus i really don’t understand why would she kill herself instead of contacting Samon directly and helping him summon the tree of Exodus .. sure her knowledge/role would have helped him control the tree once it was summoned (meaning he wouldn’t need his sister’s help) .. guess we will find out next episode .. it would be hilarious though if the witch of Exodus turned out to be someone like Evangeline Yamamoto XD
I think the bitch was never actually DEAD. Since Hakaze is the princess of the tree of Genesis, Aika could be the princess of the tree of Exodus, thus protected from by it’s power.
Oh, hadn’t thought of that. That could be another nice twist XD
Yup, that’s my theory as well. It should also be noted that when Hakaze said that dead people cannot be resurrected, she had presumed that magic was restricted by the Tree of Beginnings’ rules. It’s still a potential possibility for the Tree of Zetsuen that denies the world’s logic.
Psgels has literary skills, but I must say many of the animes picked this season are sub-par.
Maho maho maho everywhere…
That skeleton transfer thing made me chuckle, it’s so ridiculous.
3 episodes on the same boring talking scene already…
lols, don’t you have anything better than going around spouting pointless trolling, and spouting “mightier than thou” crap in every post .. give it a break and chill out dude XD
And seriously .. go watch your not-so-sub-par shows .. i’m sure some celestial anime shows exist for you out there somewhere to watch .. go ahead, nobody is going to beg you to stay.
What’s up with all of the hate? Yes, the skeleton transfer might have been contrived but their arguments are not half bad.
Sure, it may be magic magic all over the place but they’re still developing everything at a steady pace. Nothing wrong here until they conclude. If it’s ridiculous after it’s finished, then criticize it for being such. As for now… we’ll have to see how it goes.
