Okay, with this this show also has the best romance of the season. The one thing that I hardly ever buy from anime is the moment in which the couple actually falls in love. They either do so for no reason, they pull the childhood friend trick, or pull one superficial reason, or they just stuff the main couple together for a while and they automatically start to develop feelings for each other. This episode was the first time since ages since this actually caught my attention.
The build-up was perfect:there were a few scenes here and there of Serika catching Mutta’s eye, and at the end of this episode the creators threw in something quite funny that both had in common. Both Mutta’s characterization as hers was great in this. Overall though, I really think that Mutta’s voice actor is giving off a wonderful performance in this series.
This episode was mostly focused on the physical exams. Though it also raised an interesting question: how on earth is Mutta going to make it? I mean, Serika excelled everywhere, while Kenji is a great example of someone who is very solid at everything he does, yet doesn’t excel at any specific point. Mutta however… there doesn’t seem to be a reason for him to stand out, both in his average performance as in his physical abilities, mental abilities or knowledge. The only mystery is how on earth he managed to design such a hot selling car. The creators are probably going to use that somewhere later in order to make him pass.
Rating: ** (Excellent)
I know you’re praising Uchuu Kyoudai and it really is awesome, but declaring it has the best romance of the season? Come on, it only showed how Mutta had a little crush. If your idea of a good romance is that it avoids cliches and NO MOE then you my friend are very shallow.
Psgels just meant that the way that they fell in love was original and actually believable, which would turn this into a great romance.
And saying he is shallow just because he has a different opinion than you is kinda…=x
Then please tell me what is your idea of a good romance.
If you think a person who thinks ‘the best romance is the one without moe and cliches’ is shallow BECAUSE you think it isn’t, then you my friend are very shallow.
Well, two grown ups beginning to like each other for having common passions is more believable than suddendly getting to live with/meeting a pretty girl who falls in love really fast for no real reason and who makes your childhood friend/cousin jealous because conveniently she is in love with you too.
Leave Psgels alone you meanie!
Mutta was also the only person who was obsessed with the loose screw in the interview. I suspect that will play a part in him passing, and also how he designed the car.
“Overall though, I really think that Mutta’s voice actor is giving off a wonderful performance in this series. ”
you mean Hirata Hiroaki. When i started watching the show, the Mutta’s voice kept reminding me of another character. So i looked it up and i still don’t know of which character he reminded me of as he did too many of some of most memorable characters.
I think Psgels is already a big fan of Hiroaki Hirata, he just doesn’t realize it yet. Remember Kyougokudou from Mouryou no hako? That was him too.
Don’t forget Wild Tiger 😉
ahhhhhhh that’s where it’s from
I really like this series but for me the best are the not so subtle jokes. I know it’s not a comedy but sometimes it is hilarious.
I really laughed with that medical exam.
I believe Mutta will be hired for one thing: resourcefulness. He’ll probably be quick to adapt to some random situation and that will get him in. His friend has the looks of a commander and the doctor gal is, well, a doctor 🙂
I think Mutta’s probably doing alot better in the exams than he believes he is. Since we’re only seeing things through his eyes, it’s surely misleading us. He was a successful designer before, and he managed to pass the first part of the test–I’m sure as he slowly comes to realize his potential the audience will as well.
space brothers is just great! exam tests remind me a bit of twin spica, I remember that being more tense, but it’s not over yet
This episode reminded me more of the movie The Right Stuff, right down to the lung capacity test (I was just waiting for the bathroom semen example scene.) hahaha. This makes me sad that NASA no longer has a space shuttle program. 🙁
