this site, a Tsubasa Chronicle OVA has been announced! The animation studio to handle it is still unknown at this point. It’ll be interesting to see how this develops in the future. Obviously, an OVA won’t be enough to finish the story, as from the things I heard, the manga goes on for much longer. Still, this does show that CLAMP doesn’t give up after its debacle with Bee-Train. Perhaps we can expect more OVAs in the future, or perhaps even a third season.]]>
An OVA is one thing but what we all want is another season, there has been rumors that there will be another season and there are also rumors that there wont be one. Hopefully there will be one as OVAs are never enough to wrap things up for a series as long as Tsubasa Chronicles
I agree with the “An OVA is one thing” statement. But at least there is something 🙂 …
I’m praying Bee-Train isn’t the studio. Oh and I don’t want a third season. Especially if Bee-Train is handling it.
I’m not gonna bash on Bee-Train! Just be thankful you got 2 seasons of the anime already. Things could be worse. In other news. An OVA seems alright but I really hope they don’t stop there or else there will be a lot of sad fans…
The OVA should only cover the Tokyo arc in manga (for those who don’t read the manga, be warned, it’s VERY dark and bloody compared to the rest of the series. Think ‘X’ dark and bloody), seeing as Ohkawa said that she really wanted to see the Tokyo arc in Tsubasa and the Spider eye arc in xxxHOLiC to be covered.
The Tokyo arc should satisfy many fans though, seeing as there is SO MUCH plot development during the arc. For those who don’t/haven’t read the manga yet, I really can’t see how you can resist anymore after the OVA, because… uh… can we say giant cliff hangers of doom? xD;;
(Another thing of interest: the Tokyo arc OVAs’ scripts will be written by Ohkawa herself! :D)
A small update: the site now officially states that there isn’t a third season in production. Still, the fact that the Tokyo arc will be one gigantic cliffhanger, I’m having hope for either a whole series of OVAs, or some kind of third season that doesn’t have anything to do with NHK and Bee-train. Only time will tell, though.

Production IG, who handled the Movie will be animating it, and the first OVA will come out on November 21 (coincidentally enough, the date of the two-year anniversary of my blog).
But most importantly: if we want more tsubasa, these OVAs have to SELL WELL. This is one of those instances in which illegal downloading could hurt if it goes too far.
What exactly is an OVA?
“Original Video Animation, abbreviated OVA, is a term used for anime titles that are released direct-to-video, without prior showings on TV or in theaters. OVA titles were originally available on VHS, though they later became available on other media such as Laserdisc and DVD. OVA is sometimes used to refer to any short anime series or special regardless of its release format.” – taken from Wikipedia
though i am wishing there would be a third season (fyi, it was suppose to have shone in april 2007 in japan, apparently did not), an OVA will be an unfortunately good idea for the company. It is able to develop a general plot and most likely to have a cliffhanger in the end. Therefore, as they continue producing the mangas, they no longer have to make anymore seasons. Ouran High School Host Club had a sort of cliffhanger at the end of its anime and it has persuaded me and probably other to get the manga. haha, sounds logical, i hope?
According to Wikipedia there are only going to be two seasons and 3 OVAs. There is no mention anywhere that I have found that has any solid background on there being a third season, only rumors. I personally hope that the make a third season because the end of the second was really not a place where the anime should end, but if they don’t so be it. I am not following the manga and don’t plan to for a while anyway so I guess I won’t have a conclusion to the story for a while.
Here’s the first episode of Tsubasa Chronicles. You can see the whole season at http://www.rpgnstream.com

Fansubbed version was just released a few hours ago (days now) by Shinsen-Subs…. buy it when it comes to the your region! Support your animes!
The OVA was released. A series of OVAs are supposed to be released according to wiki. An OVA doesn’t mean its over though. If I recall rightly, Full Metal Panic had an OVA in s1, s2, AND s3 and a s4 is also due. [If it hasn’t come out already, which I don’t think it has, but it went into development after Kanon 2006 was finished] So fingers crossed, a third series will be out. The manga is still ongoing so it should have another series, I doubt CLAMP are going to leave so many things unanswered when the OVA finished on a cliff hanger [I watched it today, it was released Nov 17th I think]

I heard from a friend that they were making two more seasons, but I could be wrong. I do hope they do though because the ending of the last episode definitely isn’t an ending, and it doesn’t match up with the manga at all. There’s so much that still needs to take place, and the manga itself isn’t done being produced as well. I hope that in addition to the OVAs that they’ll make more seasons to the anime series.
OH YEEEAAAAHHH!
I LOVE TSUBASA CHRONICLES
WE MUST PRAY TOGETHER!!!!!
All I know is that they ended Shunraiki at a cliffhanger and that they need to continue; or they’ll be having some angry and sad fan on their hands…I have read the manga though and was kind of angry when the skipped Celes and Trinity arcs, which doesn’t make too much sense because the Acid Tokyo arc was just as dark as the Trinity arc at some points and leaving out most of the Celes arc is pointless…People deserve to hear about Fai’s past! XD They’ve been waiting for 2 season’s and two OVAs to find out about it dang it! XD
