And so the really long invasion arc has finally ended, and I must say that it did so with a bang. Eren in his titan form really looked gorgeous, and the creators did a really good job at bringing him to life there. Add that to an insert song that worked surprisingly well. Shingeki no Kyojin is obviously trying to be the epic of the year here, and well… they pretty much solidified that even more with this episode.
For a small while, there was hope in this episode. However, I also really enjoyedhow the aftermath brought everything back donwn to earth again, and to the series’ roots: despair. It did a really good job of showing exactly what kinds of sacrifices Eren had to make in order to carry out the plan of plugging up the hole in the gate, both with words, and emotions: every character was pretty much feeling the atmosphere and realized just what happened.
So after this there will be a recap, and from there on we’ll get to the second half of the series. With this the question will arise whether the creators will be able to get the entire story in, especially considering the manga hasn’t ended yet. For this there are three possibilities, I think: an anime original ending, the manga will end in a few months, or the series will be concluded in a movie of some sort. They all have their pros and cons.
Rating: 5.5/8 (Excellent)
Well, considering the manga has catapulted itself to the number 2 best selling manga and the anime is projected to sell anywhere from 50 to 80 thousand blu-rays and DVDs, there is a fourth option in there.
And that 50 to 80 thousand is for the first volume alone.
Aw yeah.
It’s all downhill from here gentlemen…
Why do you say this? Have you read the series? No spoilers please.
I have and I sort of agree with Aidan.
DISCLAIMER: There are of course some cool stuff that are going to happen, but the main problems from now on are:
The manga starts beating around the bush a lot after this point. There are some twists but they are kind of meh and there are a couple of plot points that are fairly obvious, but the manga refuses to state them explicitly and thus the plot is kept from moving forward.
I’ve read the series, and I love where it’s going. There’s more world-building and research of titans, but it’s not answering much of the questions yet and the mysteries keep piling up.
No way. Remember the SPOILERSPOILERSPOILERcatchSPOILERfemaleSPOILERtitanSPOILERarcSPOILERSPOILERSPOILERSPOILER? By far the best part of the manga.
Though admittedly, things have become rather slow after that.
I’ve no doubt it is.
Aidan is correct, the series becomes dull, repetitive around here and starts going nowhere holding of too much on answers.
Aidan might be right, but sales of the manga have skyrocketed. And it has been the most viewed episode each week in the streaming community excluding one piece and bleach, so it will probably eventually do decent when its shipped out for sale overseas. I highly doubt an anime original ending is an option, unless they plan on pulling a FMA down the line.
well i think from what the creator mentioned to us i don’t think they have number of episodes set for the anime, and they said that the series will atleast run half-year so from what i get is that they’re probably thinking of adapting the manga until they run-out of chapters.

I’m partially confused why he gave this episode a 5.5 and episode 11 a 6. I’m starting to think there isn’t much of a difference.
or that his scores are arbitrary.
There were quite a few animation blips in ep 13, so even though it was more exciting than ep 11, it was jarring and confusing when the animation didn’t sync with the sound or cut off at weird places. And those purple bricks!
Those numbers are generated randomly.
I’m surprised you’re not bothered by all the recap in the episodes and how it just kind of… didn’t feel like it was going anywhere during this Eren moves the rock back plan’s episodes. The latter part of the arc really drew on for me, but I suppose that’s my opinion. Anyway I’m excited to see it go on, but if it keeps drawing simple things out like people are saying it will that will be a shame. Especially if they have to artificially extend them more to “fit” the remaining episodes correctly.
For me there are only 2 possibilities regarding the ending of this series, either an original tv ending or they will end the anime at a point in the manga from where they can come back with another season. The manga ending soon is very unlikely imo, it is very popular.
Personally I can’t wait to listen to the second OP. Revo is going to do it again, and it’s definitely gonna be awesome.
They’ll never get to the basement.
That’s not the point of the story.
This series isn’t going to end any time soon. The plot goes AWOL into Berserk territory from here on out.
So the single is out and apparently lots of people are hating it. I honestly think it was amazing. Well, granted it’s not something like your usual ‘normal’ j-pop/j-rock music. It’s just really REVO (Sound Horizon)’s style of making music. As well as many other music doujin circles’s
