Shingeki no Kyojin is addictive, it’s just as I hoped, even in episodes like this when there isn’t any action. This episode instead was all about paranoia, and panic, which is what it used to create its atmosphere. I deally the pacing could have been a bit faster, but that’s just a minor nitpick. This still worked really well and because of that it actually made sense for that commander to be stopped by his superior, because he took so damn long to give the order to fire.
Armin was the one who got the most development in this episode. And heck, his performance in this episode was over the top crazy, but that definitely grabbed me by surprise. He’s really slowly growing out of his stereotype as well, and he’s shown quite a few times that he knows how to think and come up with bold plans.
The strange thing here is transforming: usually when a character transforms he just grows, shrinks, turns, or just generally morphs into a different shape. Eren though, he just grows 20 times his size, he regrows his limbs, and stays inside the titans like it’s some sort of flesh-puppet.

lol, yeah, though I don’t usually feel that way when only thought is involved.
I’m in lesbains with Kyojin. Good stuff, personally the only thing that bothers me is the biology. At least it makes sense that he can’t transform infinitely, and it puts strain on his body. Other than that, I love everything about Kyojin.
Armin, yes, he finally stopped being annoying. Such was a surprise.

Shingeki has been really good to watch, which I know because I haven’t felt it dragging.
I really liked that Armin got a lot of development, and that Eren trusted him enough to do it. I hope Armin’s confidence grows, and we see some more smarts from him.

Yeah you just have to completely ignore the fact that there is NO WAY that the transformation thing works at all, like the fuck did all that materials for the body come from?
I understand magic
I understand alchemy
I understand fantasy
I can accept that in a fictional world.
But when it gives a setting that seems to be following normal human rules, and makes the transformation seem like it might be a science-y thing, the idea of how Titans are created is hard to accept
The story however, is being told well enough that I’m able to ignore this big ass elephant of improbability. I guess at some level it’s so ridiculous it’s hard to get uptight about it. Whereas I have been pissed off before with other stories that contain minor elements that were unbelievable.
I guess I’ll see with the explanation that’s given though of how it’s all happening.
At the moment I’ll chalk it up to “the mysteries of the giants” but it’s easy enough to shrug off, at least until we see/learn more.
This is basically a zombie show, and just like zombies, not being able to explain titans with science is what makes them scary, maybe they are demons, maybe they are freaks of nature, at this point in the story no one knows, and that just adds to the hopelessness of the setting.
But from what we´ve seen (eating humans, or titans help them regenerate missing limbs, turning to dust when they die), I´m going to bet the titans are some type nanomachine based bio weapons.

I’ve never seen the manga and haven’t been following Kyojin at all aside from the anime episodes.
It could be off, but I thought it was a terribly obvious point, given how much they emphasize how you kill titans and now what we’ve seen of Eren-titan twice.
Ah, sorry. Sometimes it gets rather difficult to tell spoilers from the manga and people who are just really good at seeing these things apart. ^^;

I think I’m gay for Armin, he’s still cute as a young man. Besides that tidbit, I’ve been staying out of reading comments since my discovery of this show. But dam, I cried 2-3 times in 10 episodes?
This series is legendary. Best I’ve seen in at least 3 years. Love the art style, love how brutal things get, and so many characters are straight up likeable.
Can someone let me know how many episodes we’re getting? I plan to support this show when it comes out on blue ray, and the amount of anime I have actually purchased I can count on 1 hand.
