Short Synopsis: After the eventfulness of the previous episode, all the different characters prepare themselves for the upcoming events. Good: Altered OP; Kourin; only now Sakujun’s impact on Shuurei becomes clear. Bad: Sakujun may be a bit too perfect. I want to see some challenges for him as well. 🙂 Overall Enjoyment Value: 7/10 Ah, the aftermath. The chess pieces are preparing themselves to be moved. Quite a lot of things happened, though, since there are so many characters who have a role in this arc. First of all, Sho Taishi seems to have arrived in Kinka. That’s pretty fast of him, considering everyone else took months to reach it. He considers giving the ring to three possible parties: the two governors, Tei Yuushun or Eiki. It also gets revealed that Sa Taiho did some pretty bloody things in order to get the lead over the Sa Clan in the past. We also see a few glimpses of Tei Yuushun in this episode. I’m not sure what exactly his role is in this anime, but it seems to be a very important one, in order to be nominated for getting the ring. In any case, he’s now been locked up for half a year by none other than Sa Sakujun. Who this guy named Eiki might be… I have no idea. I’m suspecting we’ll learn more about him in the future episodes. Still, the most important focus of the episode was Shuurei. Only now, it becomes clear how much Sakujun has made an impact on her. The guy is a bastard, though because he seduced Shuurei, she doesn’t see it that way. She hasn’t thrown away the instrument he bought for her. She never tied her hair up again. She never spoke of Sakujun’s real name. I’m wondering where this will go.]]>
Eiki is… I don’t want to make it a spoiler for you LOL Even though it isn’t exactly spoiler material, just that you mixed her gender up =p
tei yuushun is an official who help the governor as rou ensei. As there are two governors, there are two assistants THAT’s why he has a seal in order to do his task.HE S BEEN LOCKED UP HIMSELF to keep the authority of governement because the sa clan wants the seal.
Aaah~~~!! You’re right to point out the new Sakujun bits in the OP. In this episode I was really surprised to see Shuurei, who had resisted Ryuuki’s charms so easily, become weakened and confused by frat bastard prettyboy Sakujun. WTH? I thought Seiran’s reaction was extremely interesting. Throwing yourself in front of the train in order to prevent the mistress from falling for the ‘wrong’ person…? I also think it’s interesting that Shuurei outright said that Ryuuki and Sakujun are like little boys. This is the real reason Shuurei never fell for Ryuuki and why I was surprised she reacted so strongly to Sakujun (aside from his resemblance to said Ryuuki). Basically, Ryuuki needs to grow up a bit before Shuurei will be interested. It doesn’t seem likely we’ll see such a story arc any time soon, however, with all the relevant parties parked in Sa province. This show needs more Ryuuki 🙂 Also, Tei is a really interesting character.
And every time I see Sakujun with the blossom kanzashi I want to yank it from his hands and beat him on the head with it. You’re supposed to *give* jewelry to pretty girls, not steal it from them 🙂
eiki was mentioned in earlier episodes, and we’ve seen glimpses of her 2-3 times, she seems pretty cool.
as for shuurei’s reaction to sakujin, that really is odd. i don’t like how she seems to keep comparing him to ryuuki, like he’s ryuuki’s replacement since she can’t have ryuuki without giving up her dream to be a gov. official. no worries about that with sakujin, so perhaps she’s weakened her defenses against him.
Eiki is Sa Enjun’s wife. To be honest, I hated this ep. because Shuurei was mooning over Sakujun and Seiran ‘confessed’ to her. I was screaming WTF?! while I was watching and not happy that they made the whole thing into some complicated love affair..Pitting brother against brother (if indeed Seiran was telling the truth about his feelings).
I hate that Shuurei gives more thought to Sakujun’s ‘I love you’ than to Ryuuki’s one. I really think that Ryuuki is the maturer of the two, when he was willing to let Shuurei go and fulfil her heart’s desire and was willing to wait for her without pressuring her. I believe that had he been the childish man Shuurei had painted him to be, he would’ve immediately flew into a rage and demand that they head to Kinka now to see his beloved Shuurei. IMHO, Shuurei is not giving him credit.
They damn well better not make anymore guys fall for Shuurei..I’d be uber pissed.
Shuurei wasn’t mooning over Sakujun, but dealing with how he messed with her head. Shuurei is an extremely smart and capable young woman, but very uneasy and unsure with the concept of romance and love. Ryuuki always was honest and respectful with his intentions towards Shuurei; Sakujun was anything but.
And Seiran did so much confess as say that h would marry Shuurei himself rather than let her be taken in my that sexy murderous Sakujun.
Hey psgels! I just caught up to this episode since I’m a little behind in watching this show, and I just wanted to let you know that you’re doing a PHENOMENAL job in blogging this show. I love reading your opinions, and I’m sure everyone commenting will agree. 🙂 This is definitely the best show that’s being subbed right now.
