Ugh, recap.
So yeah, most of this episode was just clips from previous episodes. Thankfully this is one of my favourite shows, so I didn’t mind to rewatch all of the great stuff that happened so far, but still. There was some new material that played three months after the previous episode. Apparently, Reiji was hit, though not in his fatal areas and he managed to recover, and now he seems to have gone back to Inferno. Scythe meanwhile has fled the organization, but he doesn’t seem to have fully given up on destroying them. Oh, and McCunnen seems to have lost a younger brother a few years ago.
So yeah, that’s pretty much it. I’m very much looking forward to the next episode now, and how Drei is going to fit in everything.
Rating: (Enjoyable)
Yeah, recap.
I hate fillers
The preview shows risque materials there… that’s a bit.. inappropriate for funimation to stream? (well, there’s the thing with Scythe’s “hobby”)
There was one part I loved about this episode: How Beetrain played “Fox Channel” in this episode (misleading the viewership that comes to a wrong conclusion by editing out an important part of a flashback).
On to chapter 2! Looking forward to it alot!
FFFFFFF I HATE RECAPS WIT A PASSION. D8 DO NOT WANT.
Hopefully there won’t be any more in the future.
But otherwise, Phantom is looking pretty good. I’m so excited for this series. 😀
The thing that annoyed me a lot in this episode was the medieval ritual at the end. Not only do I recall nothing of the sort from the particular version of the game I played, but it feels excessively over the top and so unlike the Inferno organization.
Even if medieval trinkets would be involved, I would have expected a smaller ceremony and I definitely would not expect the top brass to stay right outside an active battlefield waiting to commence an official ceremony. (And I’m having a hard time imagining Ein having gone through the same rigamarole.)
BTW, who says Scythe Master was even interested in destroying the organization in the first place? 😛
Seriously how did Reiji get THAT old in only 3 months lol… Though, he’s got quite the look now which fits better his character. LF the next arc^^.
Recaps…don’t love ya. Usually recaps happen on the 13 episode, so I was a bit surprised to see one. At least they gave us some new material. Diggin’ Zwei’s new look. He appears much more mature and badass. I was sorta shocked by the preview for next episode (never thought they would choose a sex scene for a preview-but ‘sex sells’ as they say), well I guess my suspicion that he and Claudia were sleeping together has now definitely been confirmed.
Ein is dead? But if they’re going to pull Ein from death then it will be a cliche so if beetrain is doing a unique story they won’t do that. Reiji and Claudia doing it a must see episode indeed. This show is the best, from this point on I don’t what is going to happen. Will Scythe be back? Will Ein return?(Still hoping:P) What will Reiji do?
I’m not a big fan of recaps and wouldn’t have watched this episode if it wasn’t for some explanations by Claudia and some insight into the characters. This anime is really turning out to be something, and sadly the whole ritual was kind of pointless and stupid. I wonder how Reiji is dealing with Ein’s death (all eemo now i guess XD) and I can’t wait to see Drei. She looks cute, but as we know very well in this anime, cute does not accompany nice. 😀
And lol, Reiji and Claudia doin’ it on the floor! *whistles*
First off, I totally agree with Shounen A. The whole medieval thing was probably done to make it “epic”.
With regard to the rest of the episode, it was definitely build up, but it wasn’t a completely linear recap. There was a bunch of clips added into the episode to give the story some extra background. Also, not having played the game, I can’t say for sure but there was some interesting dialog between the purple haired guy and his subordinate. In addition, McCunnen said some interesting stuff . Next arc coming up.
