It’s very interesting: normally, this would have been a much earlier episode, but thanks to all the fillers its manga chapter arrived much later. Yeah, it’s the sickness episode: a character gets sick, faints, sleeps a bit, recovers completely and it never gets mentioned again. I’m pretty sure that this is a manga chapter, though: at the end, Sylvette and Nichi are much closer and Nichi makes a very good point that further fleshes out her character: she values freedom over everything (not surprising, after her history) and because Lag means so much to her, she’s giving him all of the freedom that she can give him.
But most of all, this was just an adorable episode. The sickness has been done to death by now, but it did allow Nichi’s character and her wit to blossom. It was a pretty nice way to show her in an episode where Lag is a complete side-character. Sylvette also kicked ass in that fight scene, and the Peanuts Field was pretty awesome as well.
But yeah, it all seems pretty pointless if this show is going to end at episode 25. Out of all the shows that are currently airing, this show is the most in need of extra length, simply because of how it chose to take its time. Thankfully it’s not certain yet that this series is going to end in a month and a half, so let’s hope that Studio Pierrot will allocate enough time for this series.
Rating: * (Good)
One question I should ask, if this was aired earlier, or if this series was a 50-episode series, would this have a higher rating?
Yeah, I’d rate it much higher it it did get revealed that it’s going to be a 50 episode series. 25 is way too little for this series. I’m not srue what you meant by “earlier”, though.
By earlier I meant as in it was aired instead of a filler a few weeks back, and we got the filler episode this week instead, lol.Sorry for the confusion xP
But do you ever wonder that knowing how many episodes there are to a series could spoil it a bit for you? If you didn’t know there was 26, you’d have enjoyed this episode much more. Just my way of thinking, I guess.
I’m sincerely doubtful of this being a 25 episode series. So far they’ve only adapted up to part of chapter 13 and a one-shot while there’s currently 37 chapters out (averaging around 40 pages).
Nope, this is anime filler again.
This was a pretty bad episode for me. I was fully expecting psgels to give a – disappointing rating. Maybe the last episode made him reaaaally lower his expectations.
First of all none of it makes sense, Niche losing the letter (she is super dexterous and all), Sylvette coming because she was worried Niche was late (it didn’t seem late enough), Sylvette going in the woods to find herbs all on her own, then finding it strange that niche saved her (Niche was angry over an argument, so the logical next step in Sylvette’s mind would be to just let her die?).
None of it made sense and it was forced to make the story going forward, which would be okay if the actual story of the ep was good, but it wasn’t. It was a badly executed, typical “main character gets sick” episode.
Puran: well, the premise might indeed have been stupid, btu the reason I enjoyed it was because of the characters. This actually was a filler which just left the letter deliveries for what they were, and instead focused on the relationship between Nichi and Sylvete. Since I still watch this series, exactly because of characters like them, I wasn’t disappointed.
