Awww. This show already has an awesome soundtrack, and to think that it has one of the best tracks saved for this episode. This episode was all about Ceasar, and as the episode went on it became pretty clear what was going to happen, but for what they attempted to do, the creators succeeded.
So the death of a major character. Another thing that has set Jojo apart is that really anyone can die, and they once again show this with this episode. It was over the top as usual, and the music really helped. The creators also made his death quick: no dragging on for ages, he was just hit once really badly, and that’s it. He did get to make a very elaborate farewell speech though, but it was well done with all of the symbolism there.
Wham was also a great guy to do it with dragging Ceasar inside the building with weird powers. Byusing them to block the sun they found a new twist to his powers. And it all happened in just one episode. Eat your heart out, Naruto.
Rating: 5.5/8 (Excellent)
I think this may be my favorite episode thus far, especially the last scene, (Lisa Lisa with her cigarette backwards was such a good emotional touch). This manga has always had a flair for killing off characters quickly, but in this case it felt destined to happen, especially since his father and grandfather both had heroic deaths.
awesome episode. the budget for this ep looked to be bigger than usual as well. some nice animation.
It was great indeed, but the other guy also died, and Lisa Lisa didn’t cry as much for him (she only freaked out a little when she saw the arm). In the case of Naruto, well, they have to squeeze it as much as possible in order for it not to catch the manga. It’s terrible, but that’s how it is. The more it lasts, the more they can milk out.
He is still alive, look at this page from the manga

He wasn’t worth the time for the anime though, this was Caesars moment.
Haven’t had time to read this manga… so I didn’t know that.
You could have given the episode a solid 6/8, psgels.
Caesar deserves it.
I expected even higher, especially since most people loved it. Whatever the best has yet to come.
The same thought crossed my mind as well.
I concur. What was wrong with the episode that ranked it lower then the last one? Now I am insanely curious.
I concur also. And I must add Speedwagon does have immunity. Probably his luck is his best skill.
This episode did such a great job at dramatizing Caesar’s death. The flashback and how it made Caesar into the man he was, JoJo and LisaLisa’s reactions; really well structured. Yes it was very hammy but that’s the franchise for you XD
Joseph’s voice actor did a great job this episode also, can’t get enough of Gintoki, Kyon and now JoJo
I thought this episode was awesome :D. Would have given it 6 or 6.5 out of 8 ;).
to be fair, Naruto didn’t start out with 25 years worth of material
JoJo did Caesar’s death in its second year of publishing.
I was only referring to the anime adaptations
Naruto had three years between the anime and the manga.
whatever, I don’t even care for Naruto really.
So why the 5.5 rating? :/ It was the best scripted, animated and directed episode of the series IMHO
