Yes! It has finally started! It was just one sentence, but it has started, and… must… AVOID… posting… spoilers…
So… Hisoka this episode. Talk about cunning; this is just one of those cases in which these elaborate plans are entirely justified, because this was the perfect opportunity for him to keep the Troupe in one place that would allow him to fight Chrollo. It entirely depended on Chrollo being smart as well, which only gave him more reason to get excited.
On Kurapika’s side time was mostly spent to get throught he final bits of build-up for Gon and Killua. I won’t comment on what it’s building up for, but I do want to say that I loved Killua at the end of this episode. This is a bit of a short entry, I know, but we’re NEARLY at my favorite point of Hunter X Hunter!
Rating: 5.5/8 (Excellent)
Yeah HxH has been getting ridiculously good lately… Reminds me why I marathoned the original OVA
You just dont see villains of this caliber in any other shounen out there, its nice for once having a cast full of intelligent characters
Gotta say though Id love to see how well Hisoka would do vs Chrollo… I mean, Chrollo can fight a Zoldyk evenly, and I doubt Hisoka is nearly that strong (judging by what we see later in the Greed Island arc, particularly the volleyball game)
Either way, I think I enjoy watching the troupe more than the main characters, LOL Gon might just be the least interesting character here actually, since he is the usual “act before you think/never give up/fighting for my friends” stereotype, and doesnt really bring anything new to the table
I personally think Hisoka could pretty much take down anyone else in the series, other than maybe a couple of the really heavy hitters. So far (and I’d say in the greedo island part you mention) we really haven’t got to see him fight anybody seriously. There’s at least one part in the manga were we see just how ridiculous his bungee gum can be. Let’s hope the anime gets there 🙂
In the volleyball game, Razor was just exceptionally strong and the game was built to accommodate his Nen abilities, giving him the advantage, which was the whole point, the volleyball game was designed to sweep strong opponents. Remember Nen isnt about strength, it’s about intelligence and Hisoka is one of the most intelligent characters in the series
After getting the perspective from the OVA, I must say I enjoyed the voice acting and the color pallet there much much more. Especially Hisoka’s voice actor did a better job there.
