I’ve tried watching a Precure before, but the furthest I got was with Fresh Precure (the one of last year), at around episode 6. The thing with that series is: there was just no conflict! The three main characters had no worries, flaws or anything negative. Especially Love, the lead one: she was just having fun every single day, ran around with a random idol, and because of that the battles felt as mundane as having lunch. Talk about contrast with Heart Catch.
This series surely wastes no time with the character-development, seriously. I expected this episode to be just a random monster one, and but instead the creators don’t intend to just waste these episodes and instead build further upon the chemistry between the two lead characters. The result was such an adorable episode, and I’m growing to like Tsubomi more and more.
That really begs the question: what ever could the creators have planned for the rest of this series? I mean, there still are what? 46 episodes left? Most mahou shoujo of this type generally use these first number of episodes to flesh out their cast, but this episode went much further than that. I see this as a hint for some very interesting plans for this series’ latter half.
Rating: ** (Excellent)
A Precure show with more than a gimmicky mid-show twist? That’d be pretty interesting. I truly do hope they do some more innovative things than the Precure status quo.
When the first time that Erika can transform to precure. I begin to think about difference between two. Erika can do anything and go pro like..five minutes in ep3 but Tsubomi uses full one eps and She still some of low level.
they aware about this different between two and can development this problem very well. You know Erika has many skill and talent but her heart should improve. Many of her words make people cried. But Tsubomi can fixed that problem. Because She is very kind heart. I think it make Erika begin to change.
Chemistry between two is very perfect. Thanks for sub-plot again.Because It make story has much more impact. I like it too much.
Just wishing that they are going to like put in peril or something similar. That way, there’s no way on losing that edge. And then ends off with a bang. I know this is like your typical formula but with gorgeous animations like this, it’s on of those perfect formulas that’s gonna work for this anime.
I thought this was the best episode of Heartcatch so far. Tsubomi and Erika’s chemistry is quite good, even though they’re opposites in some ways. Opposites do attract after all! I never watched the previous Precure series, so this one’s my first…and I sure am enjoying it!
You chose the shittiest PreCure to start with then. I hated Fresh, but the others are good. Especially in terms of conflict for the characters and as a team. (But then again, you also thought it was cheap, right?)
PreCure is always about developing the characters further and exploring themes, so there’s plenty left for them to do. It’s fresh in even the reptitive parts. I just want to see the enemies be as awesome and fun as they have been in the others. I guess Kumojacky is this season’s Kintolesky. Just lacking a little of the bad assery.
Actually, from what I hear Fresh Precure gets a thousand times better after the first ten episodes. A lot of people keep praising it up the wazoo, especially the episodes 22-23, which are supposedly very epic.
