So, this series definitely has this tendency to come with back-stories right from out of nowhere. This episode treated us to the identity of the father of Truth. On top of the nature of the world that the series takes place in: we’re dealing with a parallel universe. Basically this show is what would happen if earth would be invaded by the Scab Coral: it would still thrive, but not as much as we do now. So wait, are the villains in this series trying to move the plot into the current earth?
What’s interesting is how Goldilocks isn’t dead, but instead they never got enlisted. And you know what? I wonder what happened to Bruno in this timeline then: is he still working for Generation Blue, but in a different division or something? Will we actually see him again? What’s also interesting is how Ao nearly loses himself near the end of this episode, leading to quite an interesting cliff-hanger where people actually realize that he is too dangerous with that dimension-altering gun of his. Is that really going to be it, though, or did this episode fail to mention something?
And then there are the characters in this episode who just started to act weird. Elena Peoples… didn’t she try to shoot down the Nirvash a bunch of episodes ago? This episode she apparently decided to try a completely different tactic, but what she has in mind still is a complete mystery. The trio of Gazelle, Pippo and Juno also were different from usual. Juno was in his element when he started explaining things, so that one is logical, but what about Gazelle being so blunt? And has Pippo always been this stupid? The most notable change however was Georg, who sometimes got taken over by a new voice. That one definitely is a plot point that the next episodes will touch upon.
Rating: 5.5/8 (Excellent)
Oh come on, we already learned in Ep 12 that Truth was adopted by Johannson. And Georg’s alternate Voice is the japanese Secret he was connected with by Gazelles Group in Ep 15.
THIS! I cant believe people missed this! everyone’s all like “gee I wonder why georgs voice is different” -.-
psgels, are you watching this without subs? That would explain how you could miss so much ^^;;
I found this episode awesome. (but a world without nuclear plants and overpopulation doesn’t sound that bad!)
Elena seems to have a decent idea whats going on, when she tried to stop Eureka from going away aka try to shoot down the Nirvash.
Recap episode..
You seem kinda off today, it does seem like you’ve missed a lot of stuff.
Aside from that, this ep was rather bland for me. Lots of build up and explaining. Only thing I don’t get is the gun itself. We are basically dealing with time travel/changing here. Ao didn’t belong in the past to begin with, but so far we don’t know if this is the kind of story that has the,
“He was in the past before Eureka was born to begin with” you know the whole time paradox thing
or
“His going back into the past changed things.” Chronologically speaking, he didn’t go back into the past until after Eureka was born
I don’t really know, but I hope we get the answers. I’m a bit confused on a few things. Elena is a total pyscho, I’m beginning to wonder who the hell she really is.
Not that Steins;Gate was terribly original in essence, but AO still managed to copy its basic premise. Way to go! Well, still diggin’ this though.
As was already mentioned: perhaps you should rewatch some prior episodes psgels! These “contrived” plot points are everything but contrived. The relation between truth and johannson was already figured out by that japanese military man, and Georg’s additional voice is that of that head of a secret that is in Japan.
I think this story adresses one of the plot points in the original: that the scub coral does not have the flow of time in its own world. So the scub coral is connected to the past and the future timelines of Eureka seven Ao and the original Eureka seven.
Give him a break guys, Eureka seven had a two week break so it’s no wonder it’s difficult to recall what happened in the previous 15 episodes. Hell it’s difficult to recall what happened in the previous episode for that matter what with the boring bullshit politics and dull characters.
Even then there is still the massive plot hole of how the secrets clearly blew the crap out of humans and didn’t give a damn about quartz before but now that a giant head says they are protectors then everyone just believes them?
Also even if the Goldilocks team didn’t get enlisted that wouldn’t mean that the team wouldn’t exist. It would just be different pilots in the Goldilocks team.
