I’m not really happy, since this episode only seemed to have two roles: to show how Ellis is changing, and to save a bit of budget. I’m afraid to say it, but this has got to be one of the worst episodes of El Cazador. While Ellis was nice and all, she was the only thing that was nice about this episode. and perhaps the random destroyed objects that LA is leaving behind (notice the cactus at the beginning of the episode?) Both the animation and the writing were rather bad. While the series usually sparkles through its character-designs, this episode showed mostly recycled frames, or it just showed the characters from a very far distance. The case this time is about Ellis and Nadie going after a bounty to make money (even though they acknowledged that it would consume too much work in the previous episode), but it lacks the magic of the first half of the series. Especialy because we get almost no information about the guy that needs to be caught. To top things, Ellis and Nadie run yet again into Ricardo and Lilio with some god-like timing, and Nadie miraculously survives a shot from a gun that hit her directly without any possible explanation. I don’t know who wrote this rubbish, but Bee-Train: please fire him. Even the music couldn’t save this episode. There’s one interesting unrelated thing that came to my mind while watching this episode. We don’t see anymore random bounty-hunters after Ellis, do we? Does this indeed have to do with Rozenberg’s influence? I can imagine him passing out information about Ellis to the bounty-hunters, as an attempt to force Ellis to develop her powers. Please, Bee-Train. You can do better than this.]]>
I’m glad I’m not the only person who didn’t like this episode. To put it mildly, it reeks laziness and lack of budget.
Nadi slipped, that’s how she avoided death. Way too lucky.
just reassure me,are we talking .hach//roots level of lazyness here, can’t be as bad as that right?
Well, it’s not a trainwreck like .Hack//Roots. El Cazador still remains a great series, but this was just one very bad episode.
This is my first time commenting, though I love reading your reviews because I tend to agree with them. XD So I was really curious what you thought about this episode…and I see we agree. The whole zomg-she’s-dead thing was really, really cheap. ~_~
Still, I’m hoping the story will pull itself together, because I really like some of the characters (Nadie, Ellis, and RICARDO in particular).
And I’m hoping that Lirio will say something until the end of the series. It’s Inoue Marina after all, and I love her voice.
Ok I’m feeling really really strange and odd here lol. Am I the only one who found this episode surprisingly pleasant when it comes to the animation? (Its bee-train they fill their shows with stills and overly dramatic Kajiura music) Ya the death thing was cheap BUT I found the episode as a whole good…I don’t know maybe I’m just weird.
Well, there’s nothing wrong with strange tastes. 😉
I just disliked this episode because it rather ruined everything that I liked about this series. And regarding the animation, the only thing I can remember is the part where the guy tried to flee in his car, which looked rather fake.
>Nadie miraculously survives a shot from a gun that hit her directly
well … ehm… ehm… she slipped on the frost Ellis created, so che wasn’t hit at all… how lucky she was. I found it funny and not cheap at all. It’s a good way to make humour
>We don’t see anymore random bounty-hunters after Ellis, do we?
There’s someone after Ellis who’s even worse than bounty-loosers and rozemberg himself! Excuse if it’s so few >.
I didn’t notice anything especially bad about this episode either. Maybe it wasn’t the best so far. If you didn’t get why Nadie survived you must have really been asleep around that time. Regarding the god-like timing, well, this has happened in virtually every episode so far. There’s obviously something about Ricardo and Lirio which has yet to be explained.
Weird… I liked this episode a lot. But I like every episode of El Cazador so far.
Actually, I disagree, this is a pretty nice ep. Ellis cared for Nadie and showed it by her rushing to her side. And NO she wasn’t really shot. She slipped on the ice that Ellis created in order to stop the car.
