Now this is how you escalate things. Holy crap, this was a mix of shock and obvious. Kasuga in particular: this episode really shined in how it showed how he decided to run away from home. I think what the creators really wanted to show here was how he puts so much importance and value on the perfect appearance of people. In this episode things got broken and changed completely from the ideas that he has in his mind: Saeki doesn’t mind that he took her gym clothes, and people found out what he secretly did.
I mean, this was awesome. After everyone kept hiding everything, this episode had everything exposed. And instead of returning to normal like nothing happened, things changed significantly. I really like how people are no idiots in this series: Saeki pretty much knew what happened. Kasuga’s mother isn’t just there to stand in the kitchen.
I only wonder: what on earth is going on in Saeki’s head? How did she fall for Kasuga? When did that happen? Did she like him before? What kind of person is she to not be bothered by having her gym clothes stolen like that?
Rating: 5.5/8 (Excellent)
Saeki has been reading a little Baudelaire to prepare for such a twisted devotion. 🙂
You will have to wait for the next episode to obtain the answers to your questions.
Next episode will have plenty of revelations.
psgels you should stop watching this cheap ripoff and instead start reading the manga Onanie Master Kurosawa
ty
1. Aku no Hana is not really a cheap rip-off.
2. Onani Master is fucking awesome.
3. Molester man is just as awesome, if not more awesome than Onani.
Ive seen some people question the motivations of the characters as to why they do what they do because they feel that the show just gives us characters doing awkward things without the “why”; To me, watching these eps have been more than enough to explain to me the reason why they do what they do; the eps drop plenty hints. Saeki has stated a few times that no one has confessed to her before, and we learn that she has pretty much lived the hard-working-never-having-time-to-have-fun type of life. This type of life has made Saeki unapproachable to guys and has thus made her unable to comfortable interact intimately with the opposite sex. What does this mean for her character? like Nakamura has been hinting at (although how she would know is beyond me; ill just chock it up to woman’s intuition or just her natural perception of thinking that everybody have uncontrollable urges underneath them, which to an extent is true).
Nakamura keeps stating that Saeki wants to have sex; and whether that is true or not left ambiguous but i think Saeki does want to have sex. She’s been alone, always studying or not having much of a social life, and guys are afraid to approach her so she’s never had a chance to be intimate. It all adds up; she’s sexually repressed. kasuga is the first guy to approach her and he is meek and spineless enough that Saeki can feel safe being intimate with him without having to feel pressure which is why she’s so interested in him. The other big hint is that she has also started reading Fleurs de mal, said to be popular around sexually repressed adolescent teenagers for its erotic undertones. Im sure Saeki is not just reading the book just because of Kasuga, but because she also identifies with the book.
As for Nakamura and Kasuga, Nakamura is probably a teenager with a lot of conflicted emotions and thoughts (either that or she’s just fucked up in general) and she feels alone because she cant really identify with anybody else. She feels alienated due to her having these emotions which is why she feels like everyone else is worthless and why she is so keen on keeping her contract with Kasuga; she feels that kasuga and her are alike. As for Kasuga, he is just the representation of the most awkward stages of puberty; he’s puberty gone wrong…or gone right…who knows, but he doesnt seem to understand himself; he may also be sexually repressed and unable to deal with this side of him that feels these overwhelming emotions. When he does, he thinks he’s unholy and that he is scum when what he is experiencing is just a part of growing up.
Both him and Nakamura are alike but they perceive what they are going through as being perverts and instead of understanding themselves, they are twisting these confusing emotions into dark actions which lands them in these awkward situations. At this point, them being together is self-destructive due to their lack of understanding and unstable mindset. And that in a nutshell are the raison de etre behind each characters actions or their feelings towards events and each other.
interesting, thanks for that
Yes. I believe you hit the nail on the head with my feelings and thoughts about this show. I have a few things I could add, and that you might be interested in hearing, but I actually want to keep them to myself for now. In a nutshell, Saeki is slowly becoming my favorite character because of how… reasonable she is. Ironic, considering my first impression of her as a side character was that she was just meant to be Kasuga’s crush forever–or at least until the climax. Oh, how I love being wrong~
“What kind of person is she to not be bothered by having her gym clothes stolen like that…”
You’d be surprised what goes on in young, chaste, innocent ladies’ minds. Things like repressed sexual aggression seems to be in vogue these days bc young ppl in general are more open about it.
