Short Synopsis: This episode develops lots of relationships: the one between Kate and Paula, Rose and her father, Claire and her brother and Rachel and Luke. Good: Kate. Bad: No bad points this time. Overall Enjoyment Value: 8.5/10 Whoa! The next paragraph will be a major spoiler for the next episode, so if you haven’t seen it yet, close this window NOW, if you don’t want to be spoiled. I accidentally noticed Impz talking about it in IRC, and I just have to confirm whether it’s true or not. I was lurking a bit in #animeblogger, and then I noticed Impz mentioning that the creators of Red Garden aren’t afraid to kill off a major character for the progression of the story. Afterwards, I tried to forget it, but OMG, are the creators really planning to kill of Kate!? Seriously, she could have been considered the main character of this show. Of all the four girls, she got involved with the main storyline the fastest, and it was her that Hervé started dating. And now she’s just going to die like that? Okay, I don’t know if it’s really true, but the ending of the episode sent some really big hints. O_o Regarding deaths, Neil also died! To make things even sadder, this makes his only reason in this anime to be killing off Kate. To make things even more complicated, the head-officer died so that Neil could die, so that Kate could die. It’s like a domino-effect! Are the creators going to keep this up until they kill off every single character of the cast? It would be disturbing, but seeing that there are still 7 episodes left, I’m feeling that lots of characters are going to die in the next couple of episodes. O_o Also, regarding the main part of the episode, that one was meant to develop the different girls even more than they already were. And guess what, the predictions I made in the first half of the series for both Rachel and Kate were way off. Luke comes back, and even after dating Amanda he still loves Rachel. It’s not Luke who dumps Rachel, it’s Rachel who dumps Luke. Paula also was never in trouble because of Rachel’s bad attendance. She was in trouble because she kept worrying about Kate. She knew everything, and she even loved her (at least I had that part correct). The scene between Paula and Kate was too sad, by the way. Claire was just adorable. She’s become rather spaced-out, after the previous episode. On top of that, she finds out that her father has actually been helping her brother. Rose, meanwhile, develops a cold during the episode. Fairly predictable, but right now, she’s getting even closer to her father.]]>
I’m hoping Herve is going to be able to save Kate. It doesn’t look like Lise is done for though so I dunno but I think Kate will live for now. Kate might become one of Herve’s kind though so I dunno. Maybe there will be a conflict of Kate having to join Herve’s side if she becomes one of them. I don’t think she’d betray her friends though to save herself but I’m just wondering how this is gonna all work out. I do think though that Kate and Herve will be the ones to make it through the whole anime without dying though. I just have a feeling…
nah kate doesn’t die, at least not from what i’ve seen up to ep 21, but JC and the two detectives have already died, and yes a couple people die in the upcoming episodes, and like you said there’s still more to come
Ah, okay. In that case, I misunderstood things a bit.
And about Lise, I don’t know if that’s really Lise in her body. Right now, she’s just a shell who moves a bit, and who has some of Lise’s memories. It’s like Herve said, she’s not herself at the moment. The question now remains: can this be fixed?
iirc, Red Garden is 24 episodes, so there’s only five episodes left, not seven.
I think Impz was reffering to the 2 police officer’s death. Kate’s only captured from what I realize. If any character was going to be killed I would think it’d be Rose, she just feels like she’d be the one that the creators would kill off because it probably wouldn’t be disappointing ( not that I don’t like if Kate died) but still very emotional at the same time due to her childlike and innocent qualities. Anyway Red Garden deserves much more attention but for some reason it doesn’t look like the anime community really liked the series, but then again it’s not very anime-ish and is much more American-Tv-Drama styled.
Karura: ack, you’re right. My mistake
Chris: I definitely agree with you about how Red Garden deserves much more attention than it’s getting at the moment.
This animation style buts me off, but then again One Piece’s animation put me off and when I tried it I really enjoyed it…but I guess this is a different story.
holy crap! it’s actually 22 episodes i think. and there’s gonna be an OVA out on 2007/08/08. can’t believe it’s already over, i was expecting a couple more episodes
Yes, I heard that. The last two episodes are supposed to arrive in dvd-format. Dammit, I don’t think I’ll be able to wait that long.
