Hmm, either the OP and ED changed, or some wiseguy at the subbers thought to be funny to overlay a piano track. I’m edging for the latter because it just sounds too unprofessional. I mean, it’s nice and all that someone at Gotwoot knows how to play the piano and all, but using this method you make both products just inferior.
In any case, this episode consisted out of two halves. With the first half, I’m beginning to understand why everyone keeps going on and on about Minene. On top of showing an interesting and different part of her past, it also finally showed a confrontation between diary holders that didn’t involve Yukiteru and Yuno. If we’re going to compare Fate/Zero with this series, then it’s not the fact that nobody died in Fate/Zero that irks me the most, but rather that every major confrontation has to have Yukiteru in it. He’s just not an interesting character, even after 10 episodes.
This is shown even more by the second half of this episode, which returned to the dating sim roots again. I get that they’re trying to build up and all, but that bridal fair just wasn’t interesting at all to see Yukiteru stutter and mumble his way through. Afterwards, during the big supposed moment of this episode: what idiot just mentions a corpse in front of someone he hardly knows?
Rating: (Enjoyable)
Yukiteru’s always been that kind of idiot though `3`
The part that irked me most about this episode was the little “mini-demon” girl, or whatever she is. I thought Gotwoot had trolled us for a moment with different sound cropped in, that’s how bad it was.
I thought exactly the same! Seriously, I spent two minutes checking the internet to see if it was a troll, decided to carry on, and it turned out to be … that.
Oh Minene, why couldn’t the series be just about you XD! She’s so much more interesting to watch then Yukki! The episode next week should be very interesting if done right…but we never know. The bridal thing was less annoying in the manga. I blame the seiiyu (especially Yuno). Her voice urks me. It’s okay when she’s in Yandere mode but sometimes it’s just annoying. And am I the only one who though it was a bit weird that they didn’t even reflect on last’s episode ending? I mean didn’t they even hear the fourth shooting the dog guy…plot holes, plot holes…I mean if I could survive No.6’s ending and enjoy it, I can enjoy this too XD
Yuno, you sly.
You very sly.
I always chuckle everytime I hear how stupid Yukki is.
So funny.
Agree about the ‘demon girl’ thing. Because the OP audio was off i thought that when the voices changed that the audio had been completely screwed and stopped and restarted it a couple of times. Don’t know whoever thought that was a good idea but it was just lame.
Yes Minene is definitely more interesting to watch than Yukiteru
I could happily have spent more time with her.
Yuno… I only like her when she’s acting crazy and creeping the hell out of me.. when she does her fake nice girl role, her voice is grating.
But i got through the episode, so it it wasn’t so bad. I liked the end bit with the big as whole and Yuno falsifying her own memories.
Yukki.. I wonder if there’ll be a big reveal where we find out he’s the pyscho-esque of them all, his actions make no sense.
“dating sim roots” … Are we talking about the same show here? This has no roots whatsoever in dating sims. It’s meh slice-of-life stuff meant to contrast with the overarching horror of the survival game. The other main point of the wedding thing was to have Yukiteru deal with the fact that Yuno is an attractive, polite girl who he should be falling for; except for the fact she is batshit insane and has a house full of dead bodies.
And it was pretty clear Akise went to Yuno’s house looking for dead bodies, he even says so himself so it’s not like Yukiteru gave anything away. And I’m pretty sure Yukiteru only means the corpses because of the shock of seeing the giant hole where the bodies used to be.
Also you have only begun to witness the greatness is is Uryuu Minene. “wordwordswords desu” HNNNNNGGGG /fanboioff
I know the person who played it and they’re not a part of the fansub group. Rather, it’s TehIshtar, a talented anime song piano transcriber on YouTube.

I think you should probably just chill. You used the words “unprofessional” and “making products look inferior”, but it’s really not that big of a deal. Fansubs aren’t even “professional” anyways if you want to be technical about it. Of course, I would be angry if they uploaded something stupidly bad as a song instead, but the piano track was nice to listen to and they kept everything else intact.
Also, Akise is a logical and stable person compared to the insane yandere that is Yuno, so I think Yukiteru is inclined to trust him more. Akise went searching in her house anyways, so Yukiteru automatically assumed that he knew everything and mentioned it out of shock. I still think you’re being too hard on Yukiteru – take into account that he is FOURTEEN YEARS OLD (still in middle school) and can’t deal with this kind of stuff properly.
Dating sim roots? ._. I thought Mirai Nikki was just a manga.
At any rate, I don’t get all the Yukiteru hate. I’ve found him a rather interesting protagonist since the first episode–he’s easy to relate to, but still has a number of unique qualities that keep him from feeling generic.
And he’s had lots of character development. He’s become much more willing to work with the hand he’s been dealt with, at any rate. He’s not useless since he’s saved the day multiple times now, and he’s done well to overcome his fear when the situation calls for it.
I really found this episode quite a good build up and wasn’t bored in anyway. The contrast between his decision, reality and the setting was a twisted setup by the detective boy.
