… they really are going to remain in those outfits for the rest of the series, right? Ah well, I guess it’s nowhere as bad as in the previous episode, and this is something that should have been expected from this series from the start. What matters is the atmosphere: as long as that one’s good, I’ll be happy with this series. When the fanservice gets in the way of this atmosphere, that’s when I’m going to start whining.
This episode did its job well: the city is in a complete chaos and people are continuing to kill each other. People who once were kind now are just looking out for each other. The lead characters are one of the very few who are in the position in which they can really use their heads and start saving people, because they ran into a house with enough supplies and guns to take care of themselves. And I really liked the part in which the characters decided to save that little girl. The CG-zombies were one thing, but the atmosphere and music was very good there. The insert songs also worked surprisingly well. I’d only wish that the creators would have been more subtle with that peeing scene, but why am I expecting subtlety from this series?
This is pretty much wishful thinking on my part, but I’d love to see an epilogue of this series, after everything is over. Like, at the end of the final episode of this series we get a quick view of what the world is going to look like, one year from now. Whether humanity survived, or that there were still no organized actions taken against the zombies. I’d love to see the creators’ take on that, even though I know that that’s far from the focus of this series.
Rating: * (Good)
They are more likely to make an epilogue about what underwear the girls will be wearing next year
I guess this is my “mindless entertainment” show of this season, so bad but still fun to watch
Is it just me or did the insert song sound like MELL?
Unlikely there will be an epilogue of sorts. The manga is still ongoing after all, its just a shame that the series is only 12 episodes.
I think it was MELL! I noticed it too then checked out the closing credits…I think I saw her name in there.
Since episode six this show is becoming not only more and more ridiculous, but also disgusting. Even the strong women only moaning about reactionary manliness crap, lecherous and naked girls in underwear, the protagonist beeing peed on – come on, now many hentai topics can you put into just one short episode? Now only the mutated tentacle zombie monster attacking the girls is missing…
Could have been an interesting action show, but like this its not even trash that at least wouldn’t take itself seriously.
The only one talking about manliness is Saeko, and she does it in a bushido way. The rest weren’t happy because Takashi was being manly, it was because he was being courageous, and I agree. What he did was very brave. Only Rei and Shizuka were “lecherous” and that was because I think they were drunk. Takashi being peed on was played for comedy and comedy only, and I found that very amusing, especially when he had the small tear in his eye. So yeah…way to completely miss the point and focus on “OMG, too many tits, this sucks”. The hell were you expecting anyway? You didn’t see the trailer, or the previous episodes?
I stand by my initial take on this series: that with the right level of editing, it could have been a very solid series but the challenge of what to cut where, what story to tell where, and how to keep the pacing up to speed and not get caught up in various forms of PORN was beyond what I expected from the team.
In short, the show needed at least 2 of the current main characters to be killed in the first or second episode to escape the gravity of gun-porn and cute-boob-humor.
crashing back to earth, now extended across the 5 remaining eps 🙁
It’s enjoyable but this could have been so, so much better. But even if it’s basically hitting all the anime cliches, the “original” theme makes it worth a watch.
Ive enjoyed the slight remixes of themes from other zombie flicks that have been in the series. The main theme from 28 days later and the themes from the Romero films.
the main hero is such a idiot…he makes a mess and then his crew has to clean up after him…i dont think thats an original plot…but then again this show all about stuffing it with fanservices and gore so…i guess i just have to drop this anime…
