First of all: small Kuniko was AWESOME.
Now that that’s out of the way, its good to see that with a series like this one, which has a huge amount of different characters and parties, if one of them angsts there’s plenty of other stuff to keep the viewer busy with. I know that when a character experiences a huge shock like Kuniko did in the previous episode, she of course needs some time to settle down. Unfortunately it is too easy to just follow this character angsting for an entire episode and be incredibly boring in the process.
Here though, while Kuniko was putting her thoughts together, we got to see a bit of her past, and especially Atlas isn’t waiting for her to catch up as they’re setting plenty of stuff in motion in this episode. The awesome bitch-fight between Momoko and Sayoko also continues. I was surprised to learn that Sayoko isn’t Kuniko’s mother, neither Mikuni. Instead her child seems to be called Midori, who I have no idea who she is. This begs the question… where exactly did Kuniko’s mother go? The only other notable woman in Atlas we’ve seen so far is Ryouko… and that’s just scary.
I’m also wondering why Kunihito had a dagger that strangely resembled the one that Kuniko’s grandmother gave her at the end of this episode. There’s definitely something weird going on with these daggers, but I’m not yet sure what they’re made for, but they seem to be able to receive Atlas’ waves. In this episode, we see Kunihito, Mikuni AND Kuniko being able to catch these messages that were thought to be only receivable by Hiruko. I’m also glad to see that not only did Kuniko pick herself back up and decided to do something, but she also resolved to take up the leadership of the Metal-Age. There you go, here’s one girl who knows what she wants.
Rating: * (Good)
Very nice build-up episode.
*sees Kunihito’s name*

MUST WATCH!
but damn crunchyroll and/or internet is being evil to me today T_T
Wait . . .*shocked* Sayoko had a kid?! O_O
Oh I can’t wait to see the bitch-fight *_*
and little Kuniko . . . OMG ADORABLE
Um, as a Kunihito-fan this isn’t exactly an episode to look out for. He only has two or three scenes and those are most spent on him being seasick.
I have a feeling that Sayoko’s daughter Midori was the girl who has become the new vessel for Hiruko.
The matching flashbacks between Kuniko and Momoko was an interesting way to do transitions back and forth between them, giving us information about both characters at once in a nice way. It appears that Momoko may have been the one who has discouraged Kuniko from taking on her role as heir to Metal Age — encouraging her to have a reasonably normal life. It is ironic that her capture will be the thing to move Kuniko to act.

==== SAD ;___;
and those are most spent on him being seasick.
==== I WILL ENJOY THAT xD bwahahahaha *counts the hours before she can watch it already*
Thanks! =D
Why do I have the feeling that Kuniko is acting exactly according to Ryouko’s plans? On the other hand, I’m not sure if this would be a bad thing …
Just seen the episode, and yeah I did enjoy those short Kusanagi scenes xD Ohohohoho!!!
I’m also wondering where the heck Kuniko’s parents are x_x

=== weren’t all three (including Mikuni’s) are like exact copies? like how Sayoko had examined it in the previous episode. Ehehe
I really have a feeling that Ryouko knows exactly what’s up with the daggers, which would also explain why she had Kunihito’s data blocked. My guess would be that she also knew that the leader of the Metal-Age would get the dagger, which is why she tried to push Kuniko to becoming that leader, like Shounen A said. I think too, that for some reason, she wanted Kuniko to have that dagger.
Yeah, dm00, I rather enjoyed how they told both like that together. We’ve seen a few times where Momoko has wished for Kuniko get to live a normal life and not have to get involved so that’s certainly true.
Yeah, even if Ryouko doesn’t know everything about what they’ll do, she seems to know why it’s those 3 and atleast some of their importance.
Heh, yeah small kuniko was full of awesome, and it’s hard to match that adorableness
oh yeah, fantastic bringing up the point in the review about the amount of character parties again, I think it has been consistently an awesome feature of the show, it really makes things extremely interesting even the “fallout” espiodes as you said, because there’s always something happening on multiple fronts. I think it adds nicely to unique feel of the show too.

So true, the haters have been lost on her character for a long time; hasn’t that been great with Kuniko? She’s had a few believable and necessary down times after going through rough situations but they’ve done a great job managing the actual on-screen time that gets while still being substantial with rather endearing rebounds of her character on several occasions. I think she’s been a fantastic lead, not only have we already seen her experience and work through quite a few tough situations that should only make her even better as the show continues and she’s gone through a pretty full range of emotional situations, but we’re not even quite at the half-way point of the show yet and you can already say that she’s ready to act and take things on.
*yawn* *yawn* *yawn*
New species of plant, guess what a herbicide or defoliant will take care of that. You could also salt the earth. Dig it up using a rotavator etc etc. Apparently people in the future are also retarded.
Yes that skirt is too short.
Sayako you’re research hasn’t progressed because you haven’t been doing any. Torturing for sadistic pleasure doesn’t count.
So everyone is ok using gas to cook which releases CO2 – seems like a major discrepancy there.

Apparently we’re all waiting for something amazing as per the blog author – newsflash 10 episodes in and nothing really has happened, we hardly know anything about the characters STILL. Lightning claims there’s substance in this show. Really? I mean Really? because I fail to see it.
My rating * – for bollocks.
