In the middle of this season, I didn’t think that the current Spring Season of 2007 could live up to the awesomeness of the previous Spring Season of 2006, but now that nearly all of the major series have finished apart from Kaze no Shoujo Emily and Dennou Coil, my mind has changed. The major difference in both seasons is that while most series of spring 2006 had their highlight in the middle of their run, the shows of the current season all have their final episodes as their highlights. It’s awesome to see a season with so many quality endings. Usually, I’m extremely picky about them, but in one week, El Cazador, Bokura no, Ooedo Rocket and Seirei no Moribito all managed to provide a satisfying closure that left absolutely no bad taste in my mouth. While in terms of individual episodes, none of them really became as good as one of my favourite episodes of all time (Simoun 16), the better series of this season were much more consistent and thought-out when compared to Spring last year (Tsubasa Chronicle, the first season of Higurashi, xxxHolic and The Third all were awesome in their own way, but they did have pacing issues). Overall, Spring 2007 will go down for me as one of the top-tier seasons I’ve seen, ever since I started actively following the latest anime (which is since Summer 2005). The current episode provides an excellent closure for Seirei no Moribito, where Chaggumu and Barsa say goodbye. There’s nothing much to say, apart from that the sentimental and nostalgic values were immense. At this point, enough room has been left for a second season, and yet it’s perfectly fine to end the series at that point as well. I guess it’s only a matter of waiting before we find out.]]>
does balsa and tanda end up together?
Nope, they don’t.
I think they will end up with eachother eventually 😉
Balsa just had to do something in kanbal, clean her mess with all that jiguro stuff. Then she’ll be back for Tanda. I really like this anime, theres something about balsa, mysterious, I hope for a second season 😀
I really hope I.G continues the Moribito franchise. If they can keep the consistent quality in writing, animation, music, etc, they have another sure-fire hit in their hands, one that fans will not mind watching till the very end. It might even end up being bigger that the GITS franchise. XD
Ep. 26 was excellent, in that it provided a fitting closure for the show. I’m so glad that Kamiyama-san didn’t go for sentimentality overdrive, instead keeping things solid and believable. And it’s not like they’re not going to see each other again. Balsa and Chagum realize that, and until that day comes out, they’ll live their lives to the fullest. Fitting and inspiring, to say the least.
I hope I.G begins production on Book 2 soon. I would lurve to see how Kanbal looks like in its entirety, and the plot synopsis for Book 2 looks to have quite a juicy mystery in it.
There’s another novel to this? How many novels are there?
Thebastid: there were ten volumes, if I’m not mistaken.
Ah, it’s a pity I only finished the series a few days ago that I couldn’t join with all the fans in anticipating episodes.
But well, this is one of the best anime I have ever watched, it actually made you a better human after watching it lol. And I also hope that Production I.G. continues it, at least we can be sure they’ll be golds amongst lots of tasteless stuff that we have right now.
Completly agree with No.7’s comment, one of the best animes i’ve seen so far.
I do hope for a 2nd season!
One of the greatest anime series I’ve ever seen, and I’ve seen plenty (Madoka, Evangelion, Utena, Bokura No, Bakemonogatari, etc).
Animation: far more detail than animated, and unique designs give it enough originality to stand out of the pack
Story: Well paced, thought-out, 3 solid arcs with enough drama that makes the action more relevant, and excellent characterization nailed down realism.
Overall: A
