Les Miserables – Shoujo Cosette – 25

Just like Toward the Terra, Les Miserables is in dire need of a new OP and ED. It feels weird to see the characters still in their child-forms. ^^; Still, I suspect that either with episode 26 or 27, we’ll get a new one. Speaking of which, I wonder what the creators have in store for us to close off the first half of this series. Now that I think of it, I have reason to believe that the current episode was slowly paced on purpose, in order to save a big event for episode 26. After all, it seems that Eponine will be breaking into the house in the next episode, and something tells me that something’s going to happen to her. This episode, meanwhile, slowly spends its time developing the relationships between Jean, Cosette, Marius and Eponine, yet again we see how the events of seven years ago still haunt Cosette and Jean. I didn’t realize it, but Jean continuously stayed with Cosette up to this episode. This episode, we see him go out and buy a present for her, and she immediately begins to feel lonely again. Jean, meanwhile, learns a bit more about Cosette’s feelings, as it seems he’s been quite oblivious to them. Javert also still is heavily on his mind, since he actually moved out when he suspected Marius to be a spy of the police! I’m also curious at the amount of money that Jean possesses. Obviously, it’s a lot, but it’ll have to run out someday. Especially when they’re living in such an expensive building with an expensive dinner every night, I really wonder how much money he still has left. I’m looking forward to the next half of the series, and I can’t wait to see for the fourth arc to arrive. Right now, the anime is still building up, but based on the things I’ve heard about the second half, I can’t wait to see how Cosette and Jean will turn out.]]>

  1. I wish 25’d appear on Saiyaman already instead of a high-definition One Piece….even though I used ta be a huge-arse fan of One Piece (and was until I got sick of the zombies and Brooke in the manga…). Nowadays, knowing how everyone else’s obsession with Brooke’s making meh abandon One Piece, it makes me incredibly bored out my wits ta wait for eppeh downloads for this to show up….

  2. Yeah, it’s a shame that the unpopular series even get slow raw releases. Heck, it’s the reason why I switched to Share in the first place, when the raws for Sasami Mahou Shoujo Club refused to show up at all.

  3. Thank you for sharing these posts. I, too, am a great fan of Hugo and Les Miserables. I am currently writing a book of reflections (The Wisdom of Les Miserables) based on themes drawn from the novel. I’ve posted some samples and would be honored if you would take a look at your convenience.

  4. Well, if you’ve read the novel or seen the musical, you should get a feel as for what kind of direction the story’s going, and will, undoubtedly, know what happens. I have yet to see the anime – and will most definitely download it asap….I suppose they leave the fact that Eponine’s mother is a prostitute at one point out of the series, do they? [Highlight for spoiler]

  5. I think they will, yeah. They did the same for Cosette’s mother, so it would be strange for it to be included in Eponine’s mother. Still, episode eight remained quite disturbing, so I figure that the creators will think of other things to make her suffer.

  6. *never heard of the Thénardiess being a prostitute before….figured she’d probly squish guys….but still, with those boobs she has in the anime……*
I thought Ponine was whored off, though….
I pictured Thénardier being a prostitute, also. Mostly for other guys bigger and bulkier than he. I’d buy him, though he’d want me to raid my parents’ wallet. Maybe he wouldn’t abuse me as badly as my online boyfriend’s been lately….
In other news, Eponine sure cried a lot in episode 25, didn’ she?

  7. Oh, she sure did, but something’s telling me that that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Something tells me I’ll be fanboying over the next episode when she starts robbing that house.

  8. Oh my gosh….
*afraid of them skipping over the second incident thingy at Gorbeau house*
    Oh….please dun skip…..please…..
And I thought you were also a girl….because I’s weird like that.
