Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure – 12

Seriously, this show is awesome!

I mean, it keeps finding new ways to stand out while being over the top. I thought that this was impossible. This one did it with nazis. Last episode kept emphasizing how they are everything that is evil. This episode took the nazi stereotypes so over the top that it became hilarious. The people here really did justice to the evil organization by making one that looked completely unlike the others in over the topness: these guys have an actual personality other than “I listen and do stuff like a mindless robot”.

Also, I did not expect the powers that that stone guy turned out to have: the ability to completely manipulate his body and absorb others. And he really used it in a brilliant way when he traveled through the ventilation shafts. The build-up of it all, especially in the beginning was great.

Oh, and I nearly fell off my chair with Joseph in this episode. That dress.
Rating: 6/8 (Awesome)

  1. My only complaint with this episode, which might be fixed in the blurays, is that in the manga Joseph leaves a little “HELLO ADOLF” card attached to the cactus he ties Donovan to. It’s really one of those “Joseph is the best shounen protag” moments. I’m just hoping making them not-Nazis in the anime is just for the TV airings. We’ll see in a few months I guess.

    1. they censored a good deal of the nazi stuff. i remember they censored the nazi salute in the second episode. and probably in the opening too

  2. I’m not really putting my hopes into this anime until I’m absolutely sure it will cover most of the manga. I’ve read the manga up until Steel Ball Run, and thoroughly enjoyed every moment.

I’ll warn you now: if you think these episodes are good then wait until the anime starts covering Stardust Crusaders (the part where Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure really matures and becomes fiendishly addictive). It should be spectacular, if they’ve done things right.

    1. eh my high point would have to be diamond is not crash, even with the duwang translations. part 3 starts up the concept of stands, but it’s part 4 that perfects the fights. have you started 4-ball run yet?

since david is making good money off this, and the anime promo show scenes from all 8 parts, it’s likely that it will get more. if not, you can always go check out the old part 3 ovas and hopefully the part 4 live action will come out to something decent.

also 4 min jjba all star trailer is out STEAMROLLER CONFIRMED
