The current episode… I think it was a bit weaker than the others. And don’t get me wrong, it had an awesome climax again, and this made me laugh harder than any other episode this week, but it was a tad too short for my liking. The rest of this episode, it wasn’t that it was bad or anything in that direction, but after watching an episode of Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo that just kept switching back and forth between comedy and drama, something that THIS show was supposed to be good at, I feel like it could have been a bit more.
But that’s not to say that aside from the climax there wasn’t anything noteworthy in this episode. Tomoe’s past rocked, and how his feelings completely changed. Nanami refusing to steal something that could save the life of that woman whose name I can’t find. It didn’t even cross her mind, she just didn’t want to solve her problems over the backs of others, and I can really appreciate that.
I just missed the same chemistry for a large part of the episode that made me originally like this show so much. The ending made up for a lot, but not everything in this case. Ah well, better luck next week.
Rating: 4/8 (Nice)
The woman’s name is Yukiji, although I don’t remember where that was mentioned.
I haven’t watched the episode, but I don’t remember if they ever explained why Nanami had the eye inside her.
Yes, the woman’s name is Yukiji. It’s the same village woman whose body Nanami inhabited when she went back in time the first time.
They never gave the explanation for why the eye is inside Nanami, but that’s deliberate. You can make an inference as to what explains that part. It’s meant to hint at something else.
Mm, I couldn’t remember if there was some other reason for it.
Though I can’t see Nanami as a reincarnation or descendant of Yukiji for various reasons. ‘~’
I don’t think it’s really hinted at as much as beat-you-over-the-head-obvious that she is some kind of decendant/reincarnation of Yukiji.
agreed, you’d have to be some blind idiot if you couldnt even pick that up.
You’d be surprised how many people didn’t pick up on it when this story first appeared in the manga. 😛 Though I do suppose it seems more obvious in the anime adaptation.
Not read the manga but can’t say, but yeah, this isn’t a hint so much as blatantly spelling it out
yukiji eats the eye. nanami has it inside her.
DUH
however, it might be a bit icky if tomoe is her great great great great great great grandfather or something.
there must have been a tragic parting from yukiji in the past of sorts.
In this great series, agreed that this episode was spent rushing around doing lots of things in vague mystical locales far from home – kind of thing that would span three episodes in a more leisurely format. Too much plot doesn’t give Daichi-sensei the room to do his great stuff –
Which is why I’m kind of disappointed with the adaption. The manga deserves much better.
Well then again, its 13 episodes. What can you do I guess.
Also, I don’t want her to be a reincarnation. I’m glad the manga is hinting at something else right now lol.
